In a quiet corner of an old garden, a tiny rosebud grew beneath the thick leaves of a great oak. She had never seen the sun, for the oak's branches blocked the light. She had never felt the rain, for the leaves caught every drop. She had never heard the bees buzz with delight, for they never flew so low.

"Why am I here?" the little rose asked the soil.

The soil whispered back, "You are here to bloom."

"But no one will see me," she said.

"Bloom anyway," the soil replied.

So the little rose stretched her stem, opened her leaves, and slowly, petal by petal, she bloomed. She was small and pale, hidden in the shadows. She thought no one would ever know she existed.

One morning, a young girl lost her favorite marble. She searched everywhere-under the bench, behind the fountain, through the tall grass. Finally, she pushed aside the oak's low branches and crawled into the quiet corner.

There, she found the little rose, glowing like a pearl in the dim light.

"You're beautiful," the girl whispered.

She carefully dug up the rose, marble forgotten, and planted it in a pot on her sunny windowsill. For the first time, the little rose felt the warm sun on her petals. She drank the fresh rain. She heard the bees hum.

"You were always beautiful," the girl told her. "You just needed someone to see you."

The little rose bloomed brighter than ever, not because she was in the sun, but because she finally believed she was worth blooming.

And every spring, she grows a little taller, a little bolder, reminding everyone who passes by that even the smallest, hidden flower deserves to be seen.
